Mrs. Kyra Shifferer

Hello! My name is Kyra Schifferer, and I am excited to begin my fourth year at West Wing as the Special Education Math Service Coordinator. This year, I will be supporting students in 6th through 8th grade. Over the past four years, I've had the opportunity to work with students in 3rd through 8th grade, and I love helping students build confidence and find success in math.

My husband and I are celebrating 20 years of marriage this year, and we have three amazing children. Our daughter is in 6th grade at West Wing, our middle son is starting his freshman year of high school, and our oldest is beginning college in California, where he'll be playing volleyball. Needless to say, you'll usually find me at a baseball field, basketball gym, volleyball court, or soccer field on the weekends!

When I'm not cheering on my kids, I love exploring Arizona. Whether I'm hiking in Sedona, cooling off at Slide Rock, paddleboarding at Lake Pleasant or the Salt River, or finding a new trail in the Valley, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors.

I'm looking forward to another amazing year at West Wing! Middle school math can seem intimidating, but I love helping students realize it's really just a series of puzzles waiting to be solved. My goal is to help every student build confidence, celebrate growth, and maybe even leave my class saying, "Math wasn't as bad as I thought!"
