Mrs. Melissa Schrock
I am thrilled to be returning to West Wing as a Special Education Service Coordinator for 4th and 5th grade. I am so excited to meet my new students and their families. Some of my students and their families may be very familiar with me since I was their Service Coordinator in 3rd grade! I am eager to reunite with them.
This will be my 9th year working in Special Education in the Deer Valley Unified School District (7 of which were at West Wing). I have a Master's Degree in Special Education from Arizona State University. I strive to build strong social emotional relationships with my students in order to understand how they learn best. This allows me to tailor instruction to meet their individual needs. Equally important to me is establishing connections with student families so that we can work together in order to ensure students can reach their highest potential at home and in the classroom.
Personally, I have been married for 25 years to my husband Adam. We have two "children" who graduated from Sandra Day O'Connor and are currently both attending the University of Arizona (Ellie is a Senior, and Nathan is a Sophomore). I am originally from Michigan and enjoy spending summer vacations, fall break, and holidays there.
It is going to be an extraordinary year! Go Mustangs!
