About the Teacher

Mrs. Kyra Shifferer

Hello, My name is Kyra Schifferer.  I will be the 3rd-5th Math Service Coordinator for the Special Education Department.  I am originally from Illinois. I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a minor in Sociology in 2001.  I have been married for 17 years and have 3 children. We moved from Illinois to Colorado in 2017 then moved to Arizona in December 2020.  My daughter is a 3rd grader and my son is a 6th grader at West Wing. My oldest graduated from West Wing in 2022.    

I have been a substitute with the Deer Valley School District for 1 ½ years.  I fell in love with teaching, especially with Special Education. I am currently enrolled in a 2-year post-baccalaureate certification program that leads to an Arizona Teacher Certificate in the area of Special Education.  

I love hiking and stand up paddle boarding but most weekends you will find me at one of my kids sporting events.  I am so excited and grateful to be a part of the West Wing Community!
