Mrs. Riccitelli
I am excited to be the Reading Specialist at West Wing! Teaching children to read is my absolute favorite part of being a teacher. I am proud to have been at West wing School since we opened the doors! Prior to Reading, I taught Kindergarten here for 8 years.
I have also taught Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 4th Grades at other schools in the district. In addition, I have taught classes at the Universtity of Phoenix for adults studying to become teachers.
I have a Bachelor's Degree from ASU and my Master's Degree from NAU. I have my Reading Endorsement, Early Childhood Endorsement, SEI Endorsement, and Gifted Endorsement.
I am married with 2 children and I am so proud to bring my son and daughter to West Wing school to learn at the BEST school in the district!

This year is my 6th year as a reading specialist at West Wing. I have worked in education for the past 19 years, covering pretty much all ages of learners from preschool to college, but it is the opportunity to help primary students become better readers where I have found my passion. Prior to joining Deer Valley in 2011, I taught High School Spanish in the Peoria District for 11 years, and chose to make the leap to Deer Valley, where I taught Extended Day kindergarten for one year before entering the wonderful world of reading. I am a University of Iowa graduate, who along with my husband and two kids, Ciela and Shea, love the Valley of the Sun and all the outdoor activities it has to offer.

Professional:
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I have since continued my education in order to earn a K-8 reading endorsement and am also highly qualified to teach science with a science endorsement. I am happy to call DVUSD my teaching home, especially here at West Wing. I taught sixth grade here for three years and am now "home" in first grade! I absolutely love teaching students to become fluent readers. My goal is to make all my students feel like they are welcome and loved, while still encouraging them to reach their full potential academically.
Personal:
I have been married for 17 years and am the mom to three crazy, amazing kids. My family and I love to camp, hike, and be outdoors. You can usually find us sleeping in the mountains or paddle boarding on any lake we can find. In the rare moments I have down time I love to read, stroll the aisles of home stores, and try all the coffee shops!
